New trucks are often smart buys, provided you check out the manufacturer and its reputation for durable, effective, efficient machines. A new truck has no wear or tear and its full service life and warranty ahead of it.
Older or used trucks are where things can get a little tricky. These might look like the better values, and often times, they can be a real steal in terms of price. If a company has extra vehicles, is downsizing, or even going out of business, they might be looking to shed a concrete pump truck at a low price just to divest it from their inventory.
Second-hand vehicles can be tremendous values if they still have a lot of life left to them, especially if there are any existing warranties left that will transfer with the new ownership. You do need to check into even that model and manufacturer though, at least online, to see how well they’ve stacked up over time.
In the case of a used one, check to see if the selling owner is the original owner or if the truck has been passed around. Having access to all the maintenance records and upkeep of the vehicle in question might make or break the potential deal.
